Review: Tresemmé 7 Day Smooth Treatment

Tresemme Treatment 7 DAY SMOOTH 120ML
Tresemme Keratin Smooth 7 Day System

As a person with naturally curly and unruly hair, my battle with frizz is endless. My hair loses its composure at even the mention of humidity, and I can't be anywhere near a bathroom without a shower cap AND a cami vest double wrapped around my head for extra protection. Just take a moment to think about that. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL, PEOPLE. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL. For reference, this is what my hair looks like pre-straightening, and although I can do a pretty good job with the straighteners, the real problem is trying to keep it that way, so this is why I get so excited when I see new releases like Tresemmé's 7-Day straight.

The Body Shop Body Butters in Papaya and Passion Fruit

The Body Shop Body Butters in Papaya and Passion Fruit

So, The Body Shop have done it again: they have another huge sale on where their body butters are now only £5 each! I actually made these purchases in store on Sunday, so was able to smell the butters before buying, and do you know, I was super surprised to find that the papaya butter actually smells really quite nice. I've always sworn up and down that I hated the taste/scent/everything of papaya, so you could have pushed me over with a feather when I got a whiff of this on Sunday and didn't want to be sick! Needless to say, the passion fruit is also absolutely delicious. It's taking me everything I have not to sprinkle a few chopped strawberries onto these butters and eat them with a spoon.

I think we all know that paying the usual price of £13 for these butters really, really hurts... so you should definitely stock up whilst you still can.

Review: Cut Make Trim 13" Leather Satchel

Update December 2014: New Cut Make Trim code for December 2014! Enter the code CHRISTMASEXTRAORDINAIRE  to access a Buy 1 Get One Half Price offer on the Cut Make Trim website!

If you hadn't figured it out by now, I love a good quality, leather satchel and it's even better when it's been made right here in the UK. The Cambridge Satchel Company have, undoubtedly, kicked up a storm with their beautiful British bags, but it's always healthy to throw some competition into the mix, so please allow me to introduce you to the not-so-new kids on the block: Cut Make Trim

Cut Make Trim are a British company who have their roots in producing all kinds of leather goods, from belts to purses, to of course, satchels. All of their products are handmade in a workshop in South East England and you can normally find them at Covent Garden's Jubilee Hall Craft Market on Saturdays and Sundays. I've been swept along by the hoards of shoppers in Jubilee Market a few times, and each time I've snatched a glimpse of Cut Make Trim's satchels without really getting the opportunity to look closely. The chance eventually came, however, when Cut Make Trim kindly asked me to review one of their bags-- the 13" satchel, in fox tan. Please click below to find out more!

Update: CMT have been in touch again and are kindly offering 50 of my readers a 20% discount on their bags when entering the code abrimfuloftasha at the checkout on their website.

Charming! The Pandora Camera Charm

Pandora Charms: Camera, Heart, Dog, Green
My charms: Dogs? I love them. Green? My favourite colour. Heart? Celebrating 5 years with my partner in crime. Camera? I'm a very enthusiastic amateur.

This year when my mum presented me with my birthday cake, my grandma exclaimed "IS THAT HOW OLD YOU ARE?!" and I have to say that I shared her sentiments, because I swear it was only yesterdaygreen-swimming-suit-clad and hair in a plaited ponytailthat I was 8 years old and getting lost on a beach in Bournemouth.

The ever-quickening speed of time aside, however, I wanted to share the Pandora charm that my mum (thanks, mum!), with a little help from her friend (thanks, Katie!), picked out for me on my birthday. I have a tendency to take up new hobbies every other weekend and drop them again fives minutes after I've entertained them, but I've been passionate about taking photographs for quite a long time now, and for that reason this charm is absolutely perfect.

As you can see, my bracelet isn't of the heavily colour-coordinated, evenly-balanced type. It's  more of a homage to all of the things I like and all of the memories that mean something to me. A bit like this blog, really.

Midi Ring Love - River Island

I'm a little bit in love with midi rings. I'm a big fan of the plain type and River Island seem to have the biggest collection and most reasonable prices at the moment. I picked up a pair of lighting-bolt midis (£3 for the pair) and a single one shaped like cat ears (£3) so I'm pretty pleased with my purchases. I would have much preferred silver, but these are still pretty cute! For anyone wondering/interested in picking up some of these, I bought the medium size and for reference, my standard ring size is between J½ to L/50-52 in Pandora.

May Favourites

DSC_0595

1. Sleek Face Contour Kit: I've had this for a while as you can tell from the slightly grubby packaging, but it's only recently that I've started using the brown contour shade in this kit as an eyebrow powder. I normally use the Dolly Wink powder in 03, but I think that something a little lighter works nicely in these Spring/Summer months.

2. Barry M Nail Paint in Matte White: White nail polish is quite the trend right now and this isn't actually matt, but is the whitest, most opaque white polish that I've come across yet. This has barely left my nails all month.

3. MAC Limited Edition eyeshadow in Lorelai: I put together a post about this early on in May and I'm still enjoying the healthy sheen that this gives me.

4: MAC Limited Edition blush in Sea Me, Hear Me: I also reviewed this early in May.

5. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Frambourjoise: This has quickly become one of my favourite ever lip products. When I tried these for the first time in April I thought that Peach Club would be the one I reached for most, but I have to be honest, it's actually been neglected in the face of Frambourjoise. I pat a little bit of this in the centre of my lips and Voila! perfect berry flush.

6. Benefit High Beam: an oldy but a goody. I am tempted to go and get Sun Beam, but for now, this suits me well.

7. Barry M Eyeshadow Pencil in No 5: I bought this early in May and now use it on my lower lids nearly every day. It's a metallic brown colour that reminds me quite a lot of Maybelline's On and On Bronze Colour Tattoo and though I wasn't a fan of that on my upper lids, I much prefer this type of colour as an eyeliner on the lower lids.

8. L'Oreal Lash Architect 4D in Black Laquer: I'm currently in the middle of using up three mascaras, but I keep on coming back to this one, and I swear that the drier it becomes the better is gets. I'm a little bit incredibly clumsy, so the thin brush head with short bristles is perfect for meI barely get any mascara on my eyelids/cheeks/nose when I'm using this! Result!

9. Strategically placed succulent: M&S.

Fossil Flight Mini Three Hand Leather Watch

DSC_0276
Fossil Flight Mini Three Hand Leather Watch, £65

I feel a little bit naked when I'm not wearing a watch. I mean, let's be real, there are days when I forget to put one on and catch myself lifting up a sleeve only to find a bare wrist, but I honestly can't think of a time in my life where I haven't had a watch.

The first of my watches that stands out in my mind was steel, andmade up of lots of little links with a small rectangular face. Nowadays, I love a simple round face, a good leather strap and beautiful craftsmanship, so I suppose that's why I keep coming back to Fossil.

The Sales Assistant in Fossil (London, Oxford Street) was lovely, which always helps. He helped me try different versions of the watch and even complimented the way I wear mine does anybody else wear their watches face-side down? It definitely makes the most sense to me, but I've scratched and even cracked a face or two by wearing my watches this way. I still can't stop, though; I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

Anyway, I enjoy this watch so much that I just had to share.
