A Day in my Life... in Pictures!

For as long as I can remember I've been part of an online community where people from all over the world share days in their lives through photographs. I've posted a couple of these days in these communities quite a few times, but I decided that I would share what I did yesterday on my blog for the very first time!

On this day (Saturday 30th March) we visit Beale Park (a wildlife centre in Berkshire), buy gerbil supplies at Pet at Home, do a little shopping, make pizza and watch The Walking Dead. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Bourjois Paris in Bloom - Blush in 74 Rose Amber

Bourjois Blush in 74 Rose Amber

There's a shuttle bus service in the business park where I work and at lunch time it makes an extra stop at the shopping centre near by. This is both a good and a bad thing because a) it means I can get away from the office for a while, but b) it also means I find myself browsing the shops in order to kill the 15 minutes before the bus comes back. And that is how I came to buy my very first Bourjois blush....

Living For The Weekend: Postponed Pancake Day

No frills, grease-proof-paper-separated, peanut-butter-smothered pancakes and my favourite person. Heaven.
And... it's Monday again. I think we would all be a lot happier if we swapped the weekday/weekend proportions around. I have to admit it: I live for the weekend. My homey, safe, comfortable weekends.

On account of life being too overwhelming to actually try and enjoy pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, we decided to postpone Pancake Day until Saturday. We started the day with a trip to the dog rescue centre after a long absence, and everything was wonderful because we walked a beautiful black Labrador called Barney and learned that the 13 year old Staff mix we used to walk had finally been adopted.

The pancakes had to be gluten free of course, so I took this recipe from the BBC Good Food website, knocked the flour (Dove's Farm) back to 95g, used an extra tablespoon of oil... and called it a good day.

The Handbag Security Post

Draper Revolving Punch Pliers... and a very pretty lavender plant strategically placed to perk things up a little.

Belt too big but you've run out of holes? No problem, just punch another one in. Handbag hanging a little low and you need another hole or three in the strap? No problem, your revolving punch pliers have got it under control. Concerned about your handbag security and would like a way to attach your purse to the inside? One moment, let me go and get my special tool! Etc. This, dear readers, is my Revolving Punch Tool. It has completely changed my life.

My Travel Makeup Bag

I caught a train up to Birmingham on Friday to see my family and figured I would let you in on what I carried with me in my makeup bag. I like to try and keep it to a minimum *cough* on account of the fact that my mum and grandma love sending me back home with bags full of food. This time we had even planned a trip to Ikea so I had to forfeit an additional eye shadow palette to allow space for the random, useless items that I didn't actually know that I needed in my life i.e. the tiny decorative glass dish that's now sitting by the TV waiting to be re-homed.

The bag was a gift from my boyfriend's aunt who very kindly gave me a lot of very cute, very useful stuff when I went to visit Hong Kong last year, but this is by far the thing that I love the most. I daren't photograph the inside because it looks like I've dragged it through a swamp and ran over it with a tractor, but it actually has little pockets that make organising my makeup a dream. So, for a run-down of my stash, please click the link below!
